Celadon is a kind of high-fired stoneware with a wood ash glaze by a traditional hand made process. The body of the pot is made of clay from a local deposit in a rice field. When fired in a reduction atmosphere the natural iron content of the glaze and the body combine to produce the shade of green with the crackle made by old traditonal techniques.
