Lanna Northern Thailand food are influenced by Central Thailand, Myanmar(Burma), Lao and Southern China that make Lanna food have a unique flavor and difference from other regions (Central Thai, North-Eastern Thai and Southern Thai). There’re various types of Northern Thai Lanna food included curry, chili dip, soup, grill, stir-fry, steam, salad, dessert. Due to a mountainous area of Lanna (Northern Thai), highlands weather is cool all year round that make people cook foods in high fat especially using pork lard.

Lanna Kingdom is upper Northern Thailand totally 8 proviences which are ChiangMai, ChiangRai, LamPhun, LamPang, MaeHongSorn, Phare, Nan and PhaYao expanding territory to neighboring countries in Eastern Myanmar, Southern China and Western Lao.
